Synopsis

Every afternoon at the edge of the fishing pier, 10-year-old Una sits drawing ships, faithfully awaiting her migrant mother’s return. Beside her, 12-year-old Faiz keeps her company, while their eldest sister, 17-year-old Lita, works on fishing boats to sustain their household. Lita preserves her siblings’ hope with a comforting lie: that their mother is safe and her ship will dock soon.

However, the 100th afternoon brings a storm. Faiz accidentally uncovers an old newspaper clipping hidden behind their mother’s picture frame, detailing the tragic sinking of an undocumented migrant vessel years ago.

An emotional confrontation erupts inside the cramped, suffocating washroom. As tears flow, Una appears holding her latest drawing. To protect his youngest sister’s innocence, Faiz swallows the bitter lie alongside Lita. Yet for Lita, this evening marks a turning point—a new waypoint. She tears the word “UNDOCUMENTED” from the news article and steps out of the darkness, determined to navigate their future honestly.
